I’ve seen it work for many of my clients. It’s helped propel them forward with rapid speed towards their desires. Once they gained the slightest momentum, even the craziness of a pandemic couldn’t derail them.

Now, this road requires diligence and commitment. But if you’re willing to work for it, you won’t go wrong. It will lead you to success, freedom, and a fulfilling career.

But it can’t lead you anywhere if you’re still viewing your career through an unfocused lens - fuzzy and unclear. You may have a sense of what you want but not tangible goals.

And without tangible goals, you can’t even begin your journey towards success.

That’s where my five-step strategy comes in. It will help you hone in on your real goals and define the necessary steps to achieving them.

But first, you need to ask yourself …

What is your desired outcome?

We all have career goals. Most of us want:

  • A bigger, better income …

  • Superstar status …

  • A thriving business …

  • Total freedom …

  • And LOTS MORE

But what is a better income? Exactly how much money do you want to make each year? A million dollars … two million … twenty million?

What is superstar status? Are you gunning for the Forbes 30 Under 30 list? Or perhaps a big promotion at work?

What is a thriving business? A multi-million dollar corporation with 50+ employees? Or is it your own LLC that generates a comfortable amount of income?

What is total freedom? That’s a loaded question! And probably the most difficult one to answer.

Does total freedom mean working for yourself? Not having to settle for a steady job at a company you can’t stand? Having sustainable income without the need for a job? Living where you want to live, as opposed to where job opportunities are?

Until you can answer these questions, you can’t get that ship of yours back on course.

Set Reasonable Goals

Once you know what you want, break it down into reasonable increments.

Not only will this help you get organized, but it will also keep the momentum going. Every time you achieve one of your goals, you’ll feel that much closer to reaching your major career objectives.

The key here is to make sure your goals are REASONABLE.

Let’s say you’ve decided that earning $250,000 per year will make you happy. But your current salary is $50-60K. You decide to set a goal of increasing your income from $50K to $250K within three years.

It’s an ambitious goal. But is it reasonable?

Well, it depends. What do you plan on doing over the next three years that will help you achieve that goal?

An investment strategy? A side business you will start? Transitioning to a different career path?

What resources do you have available to help you? Investment capital? Degrees? Certifications? Mentors?

If you’re planning on doing nothing and have no resources, then of course it’s an unreasonable goal. But if you have resources and an executable strategy comprised of MANY OTHER incremental goals along the way, then it may be a reasonable goal.

Just remember - unreasonable goals set the stage for failure. Reasonable goals will propel you towards success.

Commit to a Deadline

Deadlines are a crucial part of reaching goals. They keep us action-oriented. And without action behind it, a dream will always remain a dream.

But setting deadlines will help you move forward towards achieving your goals. It will also help you avoid procrastination and poor timing.

Even more importantly, deadlines will hold you accountable for your action … or inaction.

Deadlines will keep you focused on your goals.

At this point, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, take a deep breath and keep reading.

Defining your desired outcome, setting reasonable goals, and committing to deadlines are all crucial aspects in meeting your career objectives.

But they’re not exactly easy to do …

That’s why I’m here to help.

My five-step strategy will help you tackle these difficult questions until you’re clear on where you want to go and how you’re going to get there.

It’s already worked for so many people and it will work for you too … if you put in the work.

Some of the world’s greatest entrepreneurs have employed this strategy and seen a dramatic transformation in their careers. The same kind of transformation you are likely to see when you apply this strategy to your own business endeavors.
